This course covers the diagnostic process for COPD. It explains Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) including spirometry, diffusion studies, and body plethysmography; chest X-rays; CT scans; arterial blood gas analysis; the six-minute walk test; and the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) blood test. You will learn how GOLD stages (mild to very severe) are determined, how to prepare for PFTs, what the key numbers FVC and FEV1 mean, and practical next steps after diagnosis. A care team contact card is also included.
